Mexican tenor.
Oscar de la Torre studied in Munich with Saverio Suarez-Ribaudo and won the opera prize in the Carlo Morelli singing competition in Mexico.
He has sung in Mexico, South America, the USA and Canada. Singing engagements in Europe have taken him to Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Croatia.
His operatic repertoire embraces lyric roles in works by Mozart (Don Ottavio, Ferrando, Tamino), Rossini (Lindoro, Almaviva, Ramiro, Idreno Semiramide), Donizetti (Nemorino, Ernesto, Tonio, Fernando La favorite, Beppe Rita), Bellini (Arturo), Verdi (Alfredo), Puccini (Rinuccio), Bizet (Nadir), Gounod (Roméo) and Adam (Chappelou Le postillon de Longjumeau). He also sang Frederic (in Spanish) in the Latin American premiere of The Pirates of Penzance.
