Kieran White is a student of Amand Hekker, currently studying in Glasgow at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he won the second prize in the Jean Highgate Competition. Recently graduated he will be continuing with his studies at the Royal Academy of Music with a Masters degree under Neil Mackie.
He was previously a chorister at Sherborne Abbey and then Wells Cathedral. While singing as a treble Kieran attained a place as one of the four finalists in BBC Radio 2's Young Chorister of the Year two years running. In his last year as a chorister he sang in the boys' production of Britten's Missa Brevis as the featured soloist. Kieran was also a Choral Scholar at St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin and then Truro Cathedral. As a soloist and a choral singer Kieran has toured extensively to places such as the Far East, Europe and various venues within the UK.
His operatic performances include Ferrando Così fan tutte (Opera dei Lumi); Alfred in Die Fledermaus for ESO; Steuermann in Der Fliegende Höllander (Focus Opera); Camille in The Merry Widow for Duchy Opera; the Swan in Carmina Burana and Acis in Acis and Galatea. With Raucous Rossini he has sung Edoardo La cambiale di matrimonio and Duke Bertrando L'inganno felicew.
He has also sung in the Chorus at Dorset Opera, appearing in The Pearl Fishers, Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, Carmen, Il trovatore, The Flying Dutchman, La traviata, Aïda and Fidelio. Kieran also appeared as the soloist in a performance of Hassan (Delius) at the Cheltenham Music Festival.
His oratorio repertoire includes the Monteverdi Vespers, Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle, Stainer Crucifixion, Mozart Requiem and Haydn Nelson Mass, as well as Bach Cantatas 62, 63, 147, 140, G Minor Mass, Magnificat and Coffee Cantata; the Gounod Messe Solennelle, Charpentier Te Deum, David Briggs Requiem, Handel 'Praise the Lord with one Consent' and Messiah.
