Director.
Elaine Kidd studied languages at Oxford University, subsequently training in performance and directing before co-founding The Operating Theatre in 1995, for whom she directed Noyes Fludde at the Brighton Festival. Other early directing credits included The Pleasance, Edinburgh (Storm in a Teacup) and the Man in the Moon, London (Princess).
With Scottish Opera she directed a revival of Peter Grimes as well a small-scale Essentials tour. She also worked at the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Opera Factory (both London and Zurich), and at the Bregenz Festival. She directed the premiere of Eloise by Karl Jenkins.
