Julian Wagstaff Suggest updates

Born Edinburgh 1970.

Scottish composer and librettist.

Julian is active as a composer, arranger and guitarist.  He worked as a translator, television researcher and computer programmer before turning his attention to music as a profession in the late 1990s.  He studied composition at Edinburgh University with Professor Nigel Osborne, receiving his Ph.D in 2008.

In August 2007 his hour-long chamber opera The Turing Test was presented on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.  During a period as Composer in Residence in the School of Chemistry, University of Edinburgh, he was commissioned to compose a second chamber opera, Breathe Freely, produced in 2013.
