Conductor.
Nicolae Dohotaru studied at the Gavril Muzicescu Arts Academy. From 1984-86, with a scholarship from the Moscow Cultural Institute, he then trained at the Anesin Music Institute, conducting its student symphony orchestra.
In 1989 he joined the Chisinau National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Moldova, and has since conducted in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Lebanon and the UK.
He has worked with the Ellen Kent organization for many years, conducting most of the touring repertoire, including Verdi (Nabucco, Rigoletto, Traviata, Aïda) and Puccini (Bohème, Tosca, Butterfly, Turandot), as well as Carmen, The Marriage of Figaro, Die Fledermaus, Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci.
