Peter Wedd studied in London at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the National Opera Studio.

He has worked with most of the major companies in Britain. Engagements at Welsh National Opera include: title role Lohengrin, Don José Carmen, Alfredo La traviata. Tamino Die Zauberfl6te, Steuermann Der fliegende Holländer and Don Ottavio Don Giovanni. With English National Opera he has sung Chevalier de la Force Dialogues des Carmélites, and with Opera North Don José. He has worked with Glyndebourne on Tour (Laca Jenůfa) and at the Garsington Festival (Florestan Fidelio, Levko May Night).

He was a Company Principal at the Royal Opera House from 1999 to 2001, with parts including Ywain in Gawain by Sir Harrison Birtwistle, and Kudrjaš Kátya Kabanová.

Other appearances include Jason Médée, Florestan (Nederlandse Reisopera); Gregor The Makropoulos Case, Laca (Opera Australia); Lensky Eugene Onegin (Stadttheater Bern); title role Lohengrin (Opera Narodowa, Warsaw); Siegmund Die Walküre (Mexico) and Tristan Tristan und Isolde (Picketts Festival).
