Welsh baritone.
Gary Griffiths studied Opera at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he was the 2009 winner of the Gold Medal. He was the winner of the 2012 Welsh Singers Competition and represented Wales at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2013. He was previously a young artist at the Steans Institute (Ravinia Festival. Chicago). He has been an Associate Artist at Welsh National Opera, and is also a former Samling and Susan Chilcott scholar.
With Welsh National Opera he has sung Guglielmo Cosl fan tutte, Schaunard La bohème. Claudio Béatrice et Bénédict; Masetto Don Giovanni. Other operatic appearances in Britain include British Youth Opera (Belcore L'élisir d'amore, Germano La scala di seta) and Grange Park Opera (Ned Keene Peter Grimes, Dog/Innkeeper The Cunning Little Vixen). He first worked at Scottish Opera on the 2013 Opera Highlights tour, returning in 2015 for the Executioner Inés de Castro.
At New Zealand Festival Opera he sang Mozart's Figaro, and has sung Count Almaviva at Wiesbaden.
