Catrin Woodruff Suggest updates

Soprano.

Welsh soprano Catrin Woodruff has recently completed with distinction her postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she studied with Louise Winter. She previously completed a BA in Music with First Class honours from the University of York.

As a soloist, Catrin has performed a wide variety of song, sacred works and opera. In December 2012, she performed the role of Minerva in the RNCM production of Monteverdi's opera Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria, receiving excellent reviews from Manchester Theatre Awards and Opera magazine. This summer, she appeared in two concerts featuring the works of C.P.E Bach in the York Early Music Festival and also performed extracts from the roles of First Lady, Frasquita, Anne Page and Fiordiligi in Young Opera Venture's 'Opera Appetizers' tour of the north of England. Other recent performances include Haydn's Creation with the Manx Festival Chorus, Mahler's Fourth Symphony with the Stockport Symphony Orchestra, Clerambault's Léandre et Hero in St. Martin in the Fields and L'Olimpiade - An Opera (Aristea) at the York Early Music Festival. Future engagements include Haydn's Creation at Wymondham Abbey and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle with the York University Choir. Catrin is also a keen performer of ensemble and consort music, and has performed with numerous groups including the Edvard Grieg Kor, Echoris, the RNCM Chamber Choir and The 24. Catrin has received numerous awards, including The Manchester Welsh Society award in both 2012 and 2014, and in 2013 was a finalist in the W. Towyn Roberts Scholarship Prize at the National Eisteddfod.

Catrin is a devoted Mozart fan, so is delighted to be joining Opera dei Lumi in the role of Fiordiligi.
