Melanie Long Suggest updates

American mezzo-soprano Melanie made her Edinburgh Fringe debut last year as Dorabella in Così fan tutte with Opera'r Ddraig. Recent UK credits include Rosina, The Barber of Seville, with Heritage Opera and a residency at the Barbican with Award winning choreographer Darren Johnston as the featured vocalist in his most recent work, Zero Point. Melanie began her 2014 season on the New York musical theater scene as Mrs. Segstrom in The Gallery Players production of A Little Night Music, which was recently nominated for Outstanding Production of a Musical by the New York Innovative Theater Foundation. She went on to make her Lincoln Center debut in March as a soloist for New York City Ballet's run of Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Melanie hails from New York City where she will return in September to sing Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus with New York Opera Exchange, and begin work on the world premiere of End of Innocence, a new work commissioned by internationally up-and-coming Opera Moderne. Melanie holds a Master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music and is an alumna of English National Opera's Opera Works program.
