Joseph Doody studied music at Edinburgh University, then in London at the Royal College of Music, studying with Timothy Evans-Jones and Andrew Robinson, and supported by The Kathleen Trust, The Hope Scott Trust, The Mario Lanza Educational Foundation, and a Buchar Fraser Scholarship. He also trained at the London Opera Studio.
Operatic appearances include Handel (Jupiter Semele), Gluck (Pylade Iphigénie en Tauride), Mozart (Don Basilio & Don Curzio); Rossini (Guglielmo Elisabetta, Almaviva, Don Ramiro), Donizetti (Ernesto Don Pasquale), Stravinsky (Tom Rakewell), Britten (Albert Herring).
His concert repertoire includes Bach's St John Passion at Somerville College, Oxford, Mozart's Requiem at Deptford Town Hall and Cadogan Hall, Handel's Messiah at the Foundling Museum, and Gounod's St Cecilia Mass at Arundel Cathedral.
