English baritone.

Robert Garland studied for a Bachelor of Music degree in Cardiff at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, while also being a lay clerk at Llandaff Cathedral. He continued his training in London for an MA at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Mark Wildman. He has since followed a career in opera, oratorio and choral music.

During his time in Cardiff Robert performed the roles of Figaro, Le nozze di Figaro and Aeneas, Dido and Aeneas with Welsh company Opear'r Ddraig. Subsequent operatic roles include Guglielmo in Cos; fan tutte at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Papageno (Cover) in Die Zaubeflöte with Nevill Holt Opera and Belcore in L'elisir d'amore with Winterbourne Opera. Robert was also involved in contemporary opera in which he created the role of Mufty at the Tête à Tête festival. Recent opera chorus work with Grange Park Opera includes Britten's Peter Grimes and Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades. Robert has also worked with Northern Ireland Opera's chorus in Verdi's Macbeth and Wagner's Flying Dutchman.
