Riccardo Simonetti Suggest updates

English baritone.

Riccardo Simonetti trained in Manchester at the RNCM, winning the Anne Ziegler/Esso award. His debut was at ENO, where roles have included Dancaïre, Malatesta, Papageno, Schaunard, Figaro (Barber of Seville), Marullo, Pish-Tush and Bill (Mahagonny). Other roles in London include Schaunard at Holland Park.

At Glyndebourne he has sung Don Giovanni and Count Almaviva. With English Touring Opera he performed Albert in Werther, Count Almaviva, and Henry VIII in Anna Bolena. Roles with Opera North include Belcore, Papageno, Don Alfonso and Peter in Hansel and Gretel. He has also sung Rossini's Figaro with Welsh National Opera, as well as Giuseppe (The Gondoliers) and Corcoran (HMS Pinafore) with Carl Rosa. At Dublin's Lyric Opera his performances include three Puccini roles (Marcello, Sharpless and Ping) as well as Falke in Die Fledermaus.

He created the role of Ygène in Dr Ox's Experiment (Gavin Bryars) at the Coliseum, and the Suitor in Babette's Feast at the Linbury Studio, as well as Luke Pollock in Skin Deep (David Sawer) wiith Opera North.

His debut with Scottish Opera in 2012 came with six performances of the Opera Highlights tour.
