Soprano Colleen Nicoll grew up in Highland Perthshire . She is currently studying a Masters in Vocal Performance at Trinity Conservatoire of Music, in London, under the tuition of Laureen Livingstone and Jean Paul Pruna. Colleen is generously supported by The Hope Scott Trust and The Kathleen Trust.
Colleen’s most recent opera roles have included Tytania A Midsummer Night's Dream (Britten), Countess Almaviva Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Owl, Head Hen and Foresters Wife The Cunning Little Vixen (Janacek), The Joker It Makes No Difference Simone Spangolo and Chorus Aida (Verdi). This summer she will perform Yum Yum The Mikado (Gilbert and Sullivan), Giannetta L’elisir D’amore (Donizetti) and Chorus in Belshazzar (Handel) with Nicholas Kraemer and Emma Rivlin.
Colleen has a busy concert diary and really enjoys returning to Scotland to perform. She has recently performed soprano solo in Handel's Messiah for Crieff Choral and charity 'Come Sing Handel's Messiah' event, with Peter Rutterford and also works frequently with Philomusica of Edinburgh. Other concert highlights include Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate and Haydn's Nelson Mass as part of the Edinburgh Festival.
