Jane Monari studied for her Bachelor of Music in New York at the Juilliard School before graduating from the Master of Arts programme at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She was the winner of the 2012 Ludmilla Andrew Russian Song Prize, and in 2013 participated in the Oxford Lieder Master Course. She is now on the opera course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying with Kathleen McKellar-Ferguson.
While at the Juilliard, operatic roles included La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), Hermia (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Veronica (Sunday Excursion), Sally (A Hand of Bridge) and Maid (Schwergewicht). She since appeared with Opera Holloway as the Witch in Hansel and Gretel.
Concert appearances include Mozart's Requiem and Mendelssohn's Die erste Walpurgisnacht with the City of Glasgow Chorus and the Orchestra of Scottish Opera. In 2011 she was a soloist in the premiere of The Hours by Diana Burrell, and in 2012 in Elgar Howarth's Venice - A Portrait, a work commissioned by the Royal Academy of Music.
