Edgaras Montvidas is one of the most prominent operatic performers to have emerged from the newly independent state of Lithuania.  He began to study piano before starting vocal training under Virgilijus Noreika. His early operatic appearances were with the Vilnius City Opera.

His international career began in London on the Jette Parker Young Artists programme at the Royal Opera House.  He has since sung there as well as with Glyndebourne, Scottish Opera and many European companies.
