This was an elegantly simple reading of Così, which showed a level of intelligence which has been hard to find in productions of the opera. Leo Hussain conducted a beautiful account of the score. Accomplished performances came from Amy Freston and Rachel Nicholls, as well as from the understudy who took over Fiordiligi when Amanda Echalaz fell ill. Best of the men was regular company member Andrew Slater as Alfonso.
