Inevitably, perhaps, the party scenes were less grand than usual, but thanks largely to the stylish conducting of Tecwyn Evans, this still proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable performance using a witty new translation. It was also good to see how well Margaret Preece had developed since her years with the Scottish Opera Chorus.
