This week-long visit to Dundee was the final one by the O'Mara company, as the popular and successful theatre was about to be acquired by a cinema company - a great loss to the city. The repertoire was widely seen as slightly unadventurous - but it was actually very unusual for a week's programme to include three of the old Victorian favourites - Balfe's Rose of Castille was here making its final appearance, and Lucia was disappearing for many decades.
The programme included: Mon Maritana; Tue Bohemian Girl; Wed Trovatore; Thu Samson and Delilah; Fri Lohengrin; Sat mat Lucia; Sat eve Rose of Castille.
Cast details for Maritana are from the Dundee Advertiser and Dundee Courier & Advertiser.
