Auber's serious masterpiece was by this time a rarity, and the Carl Rosa had not brought it to Scotland before.

The cast is as detailed in programmes in the Royalty Theatre file at the Mitchell Library and the Edinburgh Room at Edinburgh City Library. No information is provided as to whether the conductor was Eugene Goossens or Claude Jacquinot.
