The Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival 2012 includes opera for the first time - Opera à La Carte are to give a performance scored for a wind quartet and conducted by Susanna Stranders, their musical director and a répétiteur at the Royal Opera House.
It is to be hoped that this single performance will be well enough supported to justify a return visit next year.
