This was the first sighting in Perth of Donizetti’s great Scottish tragedy. The conductor, Noel Davies, had many years experience of working on the 1973 Sadler’s Wells/ENO production in London and on tour, and led an enjoyably idiomatic performance, led by the sterling Mary of Anne Mason.
