The cast for the opening night of this Glasgow fortnight is as reviewed in the Glasgow Herald.
Perhaps the point that aroused most interest was the new Escamillo, a lithe and handsome young baritone called Alec Marsh, making a debut in what would clearly become a signature role.
The repertoire was: Mon Carmen; Tue Faust; Wed Romeo and Juliet; Thu Traviata; Fri Daughter of the Regiment; Sat mat Bo Girl; Sat eve Trovatore; Second Mon Bo Girl; Tue Romeo and Juliet; Wed Faust; Thu Romeo and Juliet; Fri Bo Girl; Sat mat Daughter of the Regiment; Sat eve Traviata.
The following week the company moved to Edinburgh with a similar repertoire.
