Una Cosa Rara was a great success on its first appearance, but it is still a rarity today. In 1967 it was receiving its first modern revival, by a company called Opera '61, and featuring an early appearance by Dame Josephine Barstow. This intimate staging was greeted with thoroughly deserved delight.
