This was a remarkably late revival for Dibdin's little work, put on as an afterpiece to pad out the performance of Offembach's Geneviève de Brabant. Even stranger was the fact that Emily Soldene herself played the title role en travesti. She was announced to be singing four popular songs: "Then Farewell My Trim Built Wherry"; "The Jolly Young Waterman"; "The Bay of Biscay"; and "Cherries and Plums." The first three of these were also featured in an earlier performance from 1838, and must have been standard. The evening ended with Mr Marshall singing "Rule Britannia" with Full Chorus.
