Charles Bernard toured this famous piece almost continuously at this time - by 1881 his company bore his name alone, instead of being a joint venture with Redmond Barrett. This production was touring simultaneously with his staging of Lecocq's La petite mademoiselle, which had entertained Dundee audiences the previous week.
As was still standard practice for a short while longer, the lavish costumes were provided by theatrical costumiers in London. The scenery was devised by the local team.
Additional tour dates to be confirmed.
