Trial By Jury 1967D'Oyly Carte Opera Company

Read more about the opera Trial by Jury

The 1967 visit to Edinburgh, as usual, lasted for three weeks, with most of the company's repertoire on display. Trial was, at this stage, usually performed as a curtain-raiser for HMS Pinafore, in which the company's established stars (John Reed, Donald Adams, Alan Styler, Valerie Masterson, etc) could be seen.

The Glasgow season ran for two weeks, Oct 2 and 9. The Edinburgh season began on 23 October. The gap for week commencing October 16 may have been for a brief visit to Aberdeen. This is to be confirmed.

Cast details are from a copy of the Edinburgh programme in the OperaScotland collection.
