Patience 1884Mr R D'Oyly Carte's Opera Company

Read more about the opera Patience

Patience had, by this time, been touring for some time, and none of the soloists play a prominent role in the company's history. Indeed, Josephine Findlay, in the title role, was clearly a promotion from the chorus, having appeared in a tiny solo role in an earlier tour of Pirates.

The curtain-raiser on this tour was A Private Wire, a 'New and Original Comedietta' with music by Percy Reeve and words by Arnold Felix and Frank Desprez.

Cast is from The Comet (Lamb Collection, Dundee City Library).

Further Scottish tour dates to be confirmed.
