Re Pastore was generally reckoned to be a highlight of all the Ledlanet opera productions on its intimate postage-stamp stage.

This charming work featured notable early appearances by Jill Gomez, in the title role, and Philip Langridge as a humane and magnanimous Alexander the Great.
