This was the first performance in Scotland since the premiere at the 1980 Edinburgh Festival. A chamber opera by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. Based on a true story, The Lighthouse concerns the disappearance of the three men manning a lighthouse off the coast of Scotland. It is scored for an instrumental ensemble 12 strong.
