Lennox Berkeley's one-act opera is a cheerful trifle dealing with the exigencies of fortune and the difficulties of marrying one's daughter to a rich Prince. It's generally upbeat atmosphere made an effective contrast with the darker world of Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti.
