The inaugural production of Cromarty Youth Opera was chosen not only in homage to Benjamin Britten but because Mr Caswell had sung the part of Noah. More importantly, he thought it was an ideal piece with which to introduce young people to opera. Mr Caswell recruited at Cromarty Primary, Fortrose Academy and other schools on the Black Isle. The company now has thiry singers, aged between six and twenty-four; local adults and children make up the orchestra.
