Derek Watson's third term Introducing Opera is again held in the drawing-room of the Edinburgh Society of Musicians at 3 Belford Road, near the Dean Bridge, just ten minutes' walk from Princes Street.

These talks, lavishly illustrated with music from the piano and from DVD, are informal and intended both for newcomers to opera and for those wanting to re-acquaint themselves with more detail. Refreshments are available. The evenings begin at 7pm and normally finish by 9.15pm. Please note the meeting venue is up a flight of stairs and there is no disabled access.

This term, Derek covers Madama Butterfly, the operas scheduled in the forthcoming Edinburgh International Festival, and other planned performances.
