Greek Slave 1899George Edwardes' Company

Read more about the opera Greek Slave

The Glasgow Royalty had seen A Greek Slave for a week in the autumn, but January gave that theatre a fuller season, three weeks in all. They were sandwiched between visits to Edinburgh and Paisley. The Edinburgh week, still holiday time, featured some extra matinees (to be confirmed). Of the major roles, the only change compared with November was that one of the company's major stars, Marie Studholme, had moved on, leaving Violet Lloyd to come in as Iris.

Cast details are from the Glasgow Herald, reporting on all three venues.
