Cav & Pag have rarely been seen in Scotland in recent years. Haddo had not done them before so this was a welcome contribution.
William Conway, for several years principal cellist of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and a founder of the Hebrides Ensemble, was steadily developing his conducting career and moving into opera.
The cast included baritone Eddie Wade, who had already sung at Covent Garden, Scottish Opera and Glyndebourne. Seán Ruane had a thriving international career, and Miriam Murphy was already working at Glyndebourne, Covent Garden, Paris and Seattle.
