The scheduling may seem a bit odd for this tour, with Traviata receiving two performances in Aberdeen (on successive evenings too) and only one elsewhere. Kyra Vayne was better known for the more dramatic roles in her repertoire - Tosca and the two Leonoras, but seems to have been an effective Violetta.
The repertoire for this tour consisted of five operas, of which three, La bohème, Il trovatore and La traviata were common enough. The other two, L'Elisir d'amore and Massenet's Manon were far less well known.
Cast details from Opera to be supplemented.
