The autumn 1956 tour of Eugene Iskoldoff's Itaian troupe began on 27 August and ended on 29 December, including dates in Ipswich, Chiswick, Southend-on-Sea, Southampton, Bristol (two weeks), Newcastle (two weeks), Glasgow (three weeks), Edinburgh, Leeds, Birmingham (two weeks), Croydon, Brighton and Cardiff (two weeks). The repertoire, much as usual, consisted of The Barber of Seville, Cav & Pag, and the Puccini trio of Bohème, Tosca and Butterfly.
