After an opening tour that lasted from the end of September to mid-December 1966, Scottish Opera's troupe of Opera For All players resumed their travels after a break for Christmas and New Year. The three productions were unchanged - Rossini (Cinderella), Mozart (Così fan tutte) and Puccini (Madam Butterfly).
The eleven performances of Cinderella were as follows: 16 Jan (Fort William), 20 Jan (Galashiels), 26 Jan (Lincoln), 30 Jan (Grimsby), 4 Feb (Consett), 7 Feb (Ashington), 16 Feb (Ashton-under-Lyne), 23 Feb (Normanton), 27 Feb (Goole), 11 Mar (Horbury), 17 Mar (St Helens). Some specific venues still to be confirmed.
Lincolnshire County Council must have taken a particularly enlightened attitude around this time, for the dates at Lincoln, Grimsby and Goole are all described as Schools Performances.
Schedules and cast details are from our copy of the programme for the 1966-67 season.
Subsequent additions to the tour include a three performance visit at the old Pitlochry Festival Theatre, starting with a Thursday matinee of this production.
