Performances of Smetana's sparkling comedy were still very rare in Scotland, and it had not been done outside the central belt, so it was a challenging choice for Dundee Operatic. Theee three performances alternated with an even more unusual lighter work in the form of Katinka. This was a 1915 vintage musical comedy from the pen of Rudolf Friml. The society's enterprise was rewarded, with a total audience of over 10,000 attending during the week.
Cast details are from a review in the Dundee Courier and Advertiser.
