This was a follow-up to the Ayrshire group's successful staging of Actéon earlier in the year. As then, it was founded on a course for community singers and emerging artists.
Ayrshire Opera Experience recruited singers for chorus and roles of all voice types and levels of experience to be involved in an exciting and unique production of the opera Orpheus by Charpentier. As with Actéon, the opera was translated into Scots language and performed at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.
Rehearsals and sessions wiere held at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum between the 10th and 16th of August with chorus rehearsals taking place in the evenings and weekends. Principals had additional morning and afternoon rehearsals.
