After their recent concentration on the works of Berlioz, the enterprise of Glasgow Grand continued, with an entire week devoted to the world premiere of this 'Scottish Romantic Opera'. The choice for 1938, the final production before the outbreak of war, fell on Aïda. This Jacobite-inspired piece shows the playing out of a curse laid on a family.
