Read more about the opera Sorochintsy Fair

These Edinburgh performances, in the course of an extensive tour,of Sorochintsy Fair as completed by Tcherepnin, involved the Scottish premiere. The great Russian soprano Oda Slobodskaya was a hugely popular star over many years of living in London, and she and Fistoulari had both moved on by the time the production reached Glasgow a year later.

This very abbreviated cast list is as reviewed in The Scotsman. Many of the roles were double-cast for the tour. The production names, with the exception of Fistoulari, are from a programme for the 1942 Glasgow visit, in the Mitchell Library collection.
