This is a rather special Lammermuir Festival event, involving 'Cantatas, Coffee and Cake' The cantatas are by J S Bach. The coffee is a reference to Bach's charming secular cantata - a chamber opera in all but name. There will also be coffee on offer, while the cake sounds rather fun - a local craft baker of German origin recreating delicacies from the Leipzig coffeehouses of Bach's day, especially Zimmermann's, where he spent much time.

The Coffee Cantata is preceded by the wonderful Orchestral Suite no1 in D, and followed by one of the multitude of cantatas on a religious text, 'Ehre sei dir Gott'.
