Any of these Meetings of the Friends are open to members and guests; prospective members are welcome at any time. Just contact your local branch through the details given, or contact the Friends Manager, Anne Higgins, at Scottish Opera's head office at Elmbank Crescent, Glasgow on 0141 248 4567. 

Amongst the privileges of Friends is the chance to book free entry to the dress rehearsal of the main stage performance, subject to having bought a ticket for later in the run of performances.
For Carmen, this is on Monday 5 October 6.30pm at the Theatre Royal, Glasgow.

All members of the Friends invited:   Friends of Scottish Opera AGM     Saturday 10 October 3.00pm in the Rehearsal Room, Scottish Opera’s Production Studios, 40 Edington Street, Glasgow G4 9RD followed by some musical items from Roisin walsh and Nagy Gyula from Carmen, drinks and nibbles.  AGM notice and other papers have been sent to current members.

Angus 2.30pm Sunday 4 October. Julia Prest of St Andrews University on Translating opera libretti into English. Angus Opera Group meetings take place at 2.30pm in Edzell Church Hall on the 1st Sunday of every month until May. Forth Valley 2.30pm Sunday 4 October.   Stuart MacRae and Louise Welsh on composing their new opera The Devil Inside.  Forth Valley Branch meetings take place monthly at 2.30pm in the Smith Art Gallery and Museum, Stirling (except the spring lunch) until April. Entrance £5.00 (£6.00 guests, £1.00 students). 7.30pm Wednesday 28 October Dr Myra Soutar on Ariodante.
