The three week Scottish tour starting on 21 March 1966 took in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow. All three cities saw the Flying Dutchman, Hansel and Gretel and the Thieving Magpie. However, the new Figaro production had already been seen in Glasgow the previous November, so it was replaced by these two performances of the popular 1960 staging of the Barber.
The Herald review said that it was an excellent ensemble performance, in which Noel Mangin and Patricia Kern were particularly praiseworthy.
