In his review for Opera of this student production, Raymond Monelle displays quite remarkable enthusiasm. The performance was given in French, with a native speaker in the title role, directed by a highly experienced former Carmen herself. The chosen period, that of Franco, seems to have worked well, and all the students performed with great energy, enthusiasm and control.
