The first of the the three Sunday afternoon Theatre Royal concerts in the 2015-16 season brought the tenor Ioan Hotea to Scotland for a programme of Italian opera with the Orchestra of Scottish Opera under new Music Director Stuart Stratford.
Some enticing items were in the programme, with the interval following Tonio's famous sequence of nine high Cs in La fille du régiment. Scottish plot locations are used not just for Lucia, but also for Mascagni's first opera, Guglielmo Ratcliff.
