The Bohemian romance set to a ravishing musical score has attracted millions of opera fans to the world's concert halls since La Bohème first took to the Turin stage in 1896. Since then Puccini's much loved masterpiece has become part of the standard Italian opera repertory and is one of the world's most frequently performed operas. Renowned for bringing affordable opera of outstanding quality, Opera à la Carte returns to Dumfries and Galloway to open the 2016 festival.
The Festival says: Opera à la Carte have a superb track record with the Festival, with performances tailor-made for the Easterbrook Hall. Their productions staged in the round combine grandeur, spectacle and a sense of occasion with intimate and moving presentation.
