The composer of an operetta amongst many other works, Satie described himself as "a pretentious cretin whose music makes people laugh and shrug their shoulders." Alistair McGowan played Satie's groundbreaking piano pieces and delivers his surreal articles and poems. Witty and moving.
Our reviewers enjoyed the performance thoroughly, whoch involved animated projections, scratchy cartoons of streets, people, rooms, stars and musical notes. He showed himself as a pianist with a fine touch too.
Pity there was no flyer or programme available - even one sided. An image of the setting would have been welcome.
