A review in the Scotsman (16 April) gives csst details. Of victoria Elliott, "In every way her presentation of this tradition-soaked part was a delight. Her voice has power without shrillness, and a lovely richness in its lower notes which it is not the good fortune of all sopranos to posess. her acting is effective without ever being exaggerated, and her whole stage demeanour is of the type one only too rarely meets with in opera."
"Robert Sydney gave a good account of Rudolph's part - a little lacking in weight perhaps, but pleasant singing, and true."
