Read more about the opera Rape of Lucretia

Scottish Opera's excellent staging ran from 1976 to 1978, and this was the first time that the RSAMD had mounted the work.  It was shown to be an ideal work for student performers.

The Glasgow Herald sponsored the staging as part of its Bicentenary celebrations.  Maurice Lindsay seems to have enjoyed the evening.  The chorus figures were ''clad in startling black costumes, giving them a suitably disembodied quality.'
